Our story

It started with family.

I’m Jacob. I’m building Rhem with my dad, Huey.

During Covid, we went two years without seeing each other. This was the moment we finally got to hug again.

Time together means everything to us. It’s why we’re here.

Care was part of growing up.

For nearly twenty years, our family cared for my grandmother and aunt at home. My grandmother had a stroke. My aunt had a brain tumor.

We knew the love that goes into caring for someone, and the worry that comes with it. We wanted them to feel supported, and our family to have more time to simply be together.

Now we’re building something together.

That’s where Rhem began: a home companion to help with daily routines and keep families close.

Along the way, we got into Y Combinator. Getting to share that moment as father and son made it all the more special.

We’re building for families like ours. And yours.
